-I was definitely born in the WRONG era! I'm super old fashioned on a lot of things, and I'm told often that I "have an old soul" or that I'm a "little old lady inside a young person's body". Creepy, I know!
-I love listening to crooner type music (Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin are my favorites). I also love anything Adele and I can sing along to just about any Country song that's been on the radio in the last 15 years.
-I love a lot of things about the style and culture of the 1940's and 1950's. Though, I’m not the best house keeper and kind of a mild feminist... in a good way I like to think! :)
-Ice cream is my cure all! Vanilla ice cream with a hot brownie and some walnuts will shoot me over the moon in yummy goodness.
-I HATE mouth noises (crunching ice, chips, lip smacking, slurping, scraping forks against teeth, popping gum, etc.) It's like my Achilles heel and gets under my skin EVERY TIME! (Cue my kids nodding like crazy)
-I can't fall asleep with my feet uncovered, and sometimes I take a running jump at my bed. I was told a story once of a brother hiding under his older sister’s bed and grabbing her ankles when she least expected it. Cruel… very cruel.
-If put in a fight or flight situation I’ve learned that I might just fight. I learned this right after David and I got married. He purposely popped out from behind a corner and scared the living daylights out of me. My instant reaction: JUST START SWINGING!! He had to bear hug me (around my arms) for me to come to and realize it was just him. That’ll teach him! Needless to say, he’s never done that since!
-I’m a recovering coffee addict. Before I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 6 years ago, (aka: LDS or Mormon), I drank coffee all the time! Sometimes I miss it a whole lot, so if you see me hanging out in the coffee isle at the grocery store, don’t mind me. I’m just breathing in that lovely aroma.
-I replaced my appreciation for coffee with my appreciation for dark chocolate. Yummmmmm…
-I have a decent singing voice, though nobody other than my husband and children will ever get to hear it. Anytime I’m around anyone else my voice cracks, gets all nervous, and sounds horrible. I blame it on the time in 8th grade when I was given a solo in choir and was so nervous that I was entirely off key. So embarrassing!
-The absolute most important thing about me: I LOVE being a mother to my children and my husband is my BEST friend. Sounds clichĂ©, I know. But it’s entirely true. If you truly ever want to know me and what I’m all about, just sit back and watch me with my family. They are my pride and joy. They are my EVERYTHING!
